Frequently asked questions

Opening and checking a signed document

PEC is Italy’s certified email service. Select or drop the .p7m attachment. Your browser extracts the original; if it is a PDF, you can view every page and download it.

No. Reading and verification take place in your browser. Only public resources and the trusted provider list are downloaded; your document and its name are not sent.

Does a P7M always become a PDF?

No. The original is extracted. FatturaPA, Italy’s electronic invoice format, also has a readable PDF copy; other XML and Word documents keep their original format.

What does “Valid signature” mean?

Document integrity, certificate and trust-chain checks passed. Revocation and timestamps are not checked, and the result makes this clear.

Can I open a file with multiple signatures?

Yes. Signers and nested layers remain separate. Countersignatures are reported as unverified.

Do I need an account or payment card?

No. The reader requires no account, purchase or payment details.

What is the file-size limit?

Up to 100 MB, with a warning above 50 MB. Processing time depends on the document and your device.

Does the site keep my document?

No. Documents are saved neither on the server nor in the offline cache. Download a copy to keep locally.
